In October 2014, CCHS students were challenged with the task of submitting design entries for Vulcan's upcoming Solar Park.  This  joint venture by Lethbridge College, the Town of Vulcan, and CCHS challenged students to apply their understanding of solar energy and design in order to design a solar tree that would be the inspiration for the structures in Vulcan's new solar park. The design had to meet certain specifications, including being a certain size, being visually appealing, and putting solar energy back into the grid for the Town of Vulcan.  The winners were announced at our Christmas dinner on December 19th where the winning team of students each received an iPad and the 2nd place team of students each received an iPad mini.  Students involved in the welding program offered by Lethbridge College will be helping to build the winning design.

Winners: Cora Puzey & Samantha Watson

2nd place: Keira Leadbeater & Grace Coffey

Honourable mentions: Travis Lundgren & Brody Grant, and Brett Williams & Taylor Williams
